Facial appearance can change noticeably with camera angle, lighting and facial expression. What may seem like an imbalance in one photograph may look quite different when your facial structure is assessed as a whole.

Ptosis and excess upper eyelid skin can look surprisingly similar, but they are not the same thing. While excess skin can create a heavy or hooded appearance, ptosis involves a lower position of the upper eyelid itself. In some people, both can occur together.
